When you live in a city like Chicago with five months of winter decorating with lights is an essential part of the holiday season.
Mike D'Angelo, a carpenter, spent years putting lights in his windows with thumbtacks and tape. Combining the frustration of the chore with the thought of sticking thumbtack holes in new wood windows, he decided to make a wood frame to fit into the window with holes drilled in it for the lights to protrude.
After he made the frames for a few relatives as gifts, friends started requesting sets for their homes and businesses. This forced Mike to acquire a patent and begin a business. When the demand became too large to make Light Frames out of wood, a vinyl frame had to be developed. Now countless households spend minutes, instead of hours, decorating their windows for the holidays.
